Remember our lovely garments from Nepal? Now it’s time to present the next set of a bunch of absolutely wonderful pieces in delightful colors and fantastic quality. The collection’s common theme is hippie romance, color, shape, and pattern. Once again, I’m so pleased with the end result!
Do you remember the inspiring story about the skilled craftsmen in Nepal?
So, we got in touch with the craftsmen through another supplier in Nepal, whom we had been working with for several years. Our contact, Hemlata, we met through an acquaintance of mine whom I bought clothes from in Spain. She had been working with clothes for several years and already loved her workplace. I have a strong trust in Hemlata and always ask her to find new, fun products that we can add to our range.
The joy of work among the women who embroider and crochet is significant – Hemlata has emphasized several times how important it is for her to be able to provide them with more work, and during planning, we already have several garments that will receive crocheted/embroidered decorations. It’s a small network of women who crochet and embroider, and they can work from home while taking care of their families. They choose how much they work, and they are paid per garment they make.
At the factory, there are 13 tailors, 10 men and 3 women. They sew the garments together and also embroider and sew details with machines. The factory collaborates with the women who embroider and crochet. They work 8 hours a day and, of course, take breaks. It takes them about 14 days to produce around 200 dresses or tunics. The fabrics are ordered from India, from the city of Ludhiana. They only employ skilled women and men and never use child labor.
Here above to the left, you see a picture from the manufacturing of our ponchos that we had in our range several years ago. In the picture in the middle and above to the right, our first ‘Vanja’ tunic was manufactured, which became a real favorite. In addition to the so-called ‘Patchwork’ method, where pieces of fabric are sewn onto the garment to form a motif, Hemlata also works with skilled batik suppliers. In this collection, two wonderful batik garments will be included, a vest and a tunic.
The initiative #IMadeYourClothes is taken by ‘Fashion Revolution,’ which works for transparency within the fashion industry – so that consumers should know the origin of clothes, in the same way we want to know where our food comes from.

A-line tunic with embroidered circles, ‘ELLEN.’ Playful tunic in bohemian style – a favorite model that we have had many variations of over the years. Angular neckline and 3/4 sleeves. The details are embroidered and sewn by hand.
