Taking good care of your clothes can extend their lifetime and keep them looking good for longer. In this blog, I share my top laundry tips. By following our tips, you can enjoy your favourite clothes for years to come!
We always advise you to wash according to the instructions. Washing instructions can be found on the label inside the garment. It is advisable to wash all clothes, especially those in contact with the skin, before use. Colorful clothes can be soaked in a vinegar mixture (1 dl vinegar per 1 liter cold water) before the first wash. The vinegar binds the color to the garment, prevents fading and keeps the colors bright. Many people use it as a rinse aid every time they wash their clothes.
Tip!
- Use a clothes brush. This will keep the garment fresher for longer.
- The longer a stain remains, the harder it is to remove. Therefore, remove stains as soon as they appear. Gall soap is recommended!
- Check if the garment really needs washing? Maybe removing the stain, airing or steaming the garment is enough?
- Wash your garments inside out, at the recommended temperature.
- We recommend washing our denim leggings at 40° delicate wash.
- Our panties can be washed at 60°.
- Use liquid detergent for delicates. Do not overdose.
- Wash very delicate garments in a laundry bag or by hand. A wash bag is recommended for polyester garments (find one that collect microfibers).
- Do not wring wet viscose fabrics, as viscose is delicate when wet.
- Fabric softeners are not recommended if the product contains elastane. Avoid fabric softener altogether or use vinegar instead.
- Hang-dry or tumble-dry your laundry instead of drying it in a drying cabinet or tumble dryer. In any case, never tumble dry viscose and elastane garments as heat can destroy the fibers.
- Is your garment static? A good trick is to put a little fabric softener on your hands and stroke over the garment, or try spraying it with water or hairspray.
How to wash your swimsuite
- Clean the swimsuit immediately after use with lukewarm water. This is particularly important if you have been swimming in chlorinated water.
- You can wash the swimsuit either by hand or on the washing machine’s delicate cycle.
- Use a wash bag if you wash your swimsuit in a washing machine.
- Do not use a tumble dryer as the heat will damage the elasticity of the fabric. Sunscreens also damage the fabric, so apply the cream well before putting on the swimsuit to allow it to absorb into the skin.
- Do not leave the swimsuit to dry in direct sunlight.
