A-shaped favorites – forgiving and flattering

I love A-shaped clothing! You have probably noticed it already since many garments in our collection are A-shaped. It’s no coincidence that I and so many others like A-shaped blouses, tunics, and dresses. The reason is that their shape is flattering on almost all body types.

The term “A-line” was first introduced by Christian Dior in the mid-1950s. Originally, it referred to skirts but today the term is used more loosely and refers to garments that are more tight-fitting higher up and gradually gets looser towards the lower part, resembling the shape of an A.

What makes A-line dresses, tunics, and blouses so popular is that they are not tight-fitting in the areas where many consider their “problem areas”, such as the stomach, hips, and thighs, while still providing a slight cinching at the waist. The garments are tight-fitted at the shoulders and bust, then flow more loosely around the waist, hips, and thighs. This also makes the garments very comfortable, with no feeling of tightness.

A common misconception among customers regarding A-shaped garments is the fear of creating the illusion of a pregnant belly. This effect may occur if one chooses a size that is too large or a model that isn’t tight-fitted around the bust. By selecting the right size, the garment will be shaped by the bust, creating a flattering silhouette that accentuates the waist without emphasizing the stomach.

So, what is the difference between all of our most popular A-shaped models?

DIANA vs. DORIS

Our top favorites among shorter A-shaped tunics are ‘Doris’ and ‘Diana’. At first glance, they may appear very similar, but there are several differences in their cuts. ‘Diana’ is slimmer in its design, not as fully A-shaped as ‘Doris’. Both models are made of a comfortable polyester-viscose material. The solid color models are 95% viscose.

The classic ‘Diana’ is slightly shorter than ‘Doris’ and comes with various sleeve lengths. Currently, it is available in short sleeves, ¾ length sleeves, and full-length sleeves. The neckline is a flattering oval shape with a subtle V-neck, and the hemline is straight. ‘Diana’ exudes elegance in its simplicity and is always offered in different stylish patterns. It also comes in a slightly longer version, ‘Diana Midi’. ‘Diana’ is particularly suitable for body shapes such as pear, hourglass, and straight but it can also work well for some apple-shaped bodies.

‘Doris’ is a slightly longer tunic compared to ‘Diana’. It has a relaxed fit and a round neckline with a stylish detail in the neck. ‘Doris’ has a more flowing fabric towards the hemline, creating a rounded drape where the back piece is slightly longer than the front. ‘Doris’ is also available in different sleeve lengths – short, ¾ length, and full-length. ‘Doris’ looks particularly flattering on round, apple-shaped, and straight body types.

Both ‘Doris’ and ‘Diana’ are perfect to wear with pants. If you are shorter (under 160 cm), ‘Doris’ works well with leggings. It is also possible to put a longer tunic, such as the ‘Lunika’ top, underneath if it feels too short with just leggings.

BEATA vs. MICHELLE

‘Beata’ and ‘Michelle’ are both longer than ‘Doris’ and ‘Diana’. They are perfect for wearing with both pants or leggings. Both models are made of a comfortable and flowing polyester-viscose material. The solid color options are 95% viscose.

‘Beata’ is a true princess-style model, with different sleeve lengths and a rounded neckline. The simple design combined with cool patterns makes ‘Beata’ a versatile garment. It’s perfect to both special occasions and for everyday wear. It is also available in different lengths. ‘Beata’ is a model that suits all body shapes!

‘Michelle’ is more generous in its proportions compared to ‘Beata’. The rounded hem is shorter at the sides and longer in the center. It has practical ¾ sleeves and a gentle V-neckline. ‘Michelle’ is also available in a sleeveless version and in a longer dress version. ‘Michelle’ always comes in cool patterns, allowing you to add color and trendy designs to your everyday wardrobe! This model is especially flattering for round and straight body shapes.

ELLEN vs. VIVI

‘Ellen’ is a simple black tunic with hand-embroidered two-tone pattern. It is made from comfortable cotton and offers good stretch. With its ¾ sleeves and flattering rounded V-neckline, ‘Ellen’ suits most body types. The design has a slight A-line shape, meaning it is not as flared as the previous models. ‘Ellen’ is perfect to wear with a pair of comfortable leggings or fitted pants.

The model ‘Vivi’ is a shorter version of ‘Ellen’. The overall shape of the models is the same. ‘Vivi’ comes in different variations, all with handmade, embroidered/sewn patterns. ‘Vivi’ also has ¾ sleeves and a rounded V-neckline. Because it is shorter, it is perfect to wear with pants. ‘Ellen’ and ‘Vivi’ suit all body types.

DANA vs. HILDA

Even cardigans can have an A-line shape! The cardigans ‘Dana’ and ‘Hilda’ are true classics. ‘Hilda’ is made of a blend of soft viscose and modal, while ‘Dana’ is made of modal, viscose, cotton, and polyamide. Both also contain elastane. The length of the cardigans works perfectly with both longer and shorter tops. ‘Hilda’ has a beautiful pleated texture, while ‘Dana’ has a ribbed texture on the front. Both cardigans are without buttons. They are perfect to wear with summer dresses when it’s still a bit chilly and, of course, in winter with tunics. Both cardigans are one size. We strive to choose models that work for various body types and sizes. The fit of the cardigan may vary depending on the size, so on a smaller body, the garment may have a looser (oversized) fit, but still look stylish.

Both cardigans are available in a wide range of beautiful colors, and they are updated every season!

All of these garments are personal favorites of mine, and it brings me joy to see that many of you love them just as much as I do!
